Serve & Give

At First Lutheran Church and School, there is a place for everyone in the service of God's Kingdom.  We invite all people to get involved in the work of serving others.  God calls us to service through the gifts of our time and our possessions.  Over $50,000 in benevolence is given away by First Lutheran Church and School annually, that's because 10% of all offering member and friends make to First Lutheran Church and School are directed off our campus.
Local Serving

Our serving projects focus on preparing and serving weekly meals for hungry neighbors through Monday Night Meals (MNM), building homes with Habitat for Humanity, and collecting clothes and canned goods for the Salvation Army: Stillman Sawyer Family Services Center.  These are a few of the prominent local serving opportunities at First Lutheran Church and School, yet there are many, many more.

National and International Serving

First Lutheran Church and School joins with other ELCA congregations to support ELCA World Hunger Lutheran Disaster Response, ELCA Malaria Campaign, and ELCA Global Mission.  While First Lutheran Church and School supports many of the existing networks of the ELCA, we also raises money to fight cancer with the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.  We fight hunger and poverty in partnership with Church World Services, CROP Hungerwalks and Bread for the World.  First Lutheran strives to make members and friends aware of Fairly Traded goods through our Fair Trade Market Place in our Campus Center  Purchasing Fair Trade goods supports artisans and craftspeople in nations all over the world.

Thank you for your support and encouragement as we serve locally and globally in God's Kingdom.
