First Lutheran School is a school of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. It is located at 2900 West Carson Street in Torrance just east of the Del Amo Mall. The school will open the 2008-2009 school year, its 52^nd year in Christian education, on September 3^rd, 2008.

First Lutheran is a school of 400 students in Developmental Kindergarten through 8^th grade, and 120 in its Infant-Toddler and Preschool Program. The elementary school has two classes at every grade level. Its academic curriculum follows the California content standards with additional classes in PE, Art, Music, Library Skills, and Computer. After-school sports, Science Adventures, youth groups, church choirs, and performing arts round out the curriculum after school. Extended day care with qualified and caring counselors is offered between 7:00 and 8:30 a.m., and between 3:00 and 6:00 p.m.

First Lutheran offers a first-rate Christian education where Christ is taught in the classroom and where the Christian principles of love and forgiveness are taught and practiced in every arena of school life. A high level of parent involvement is to be found at every grade level throughout the school.
